Grandparents Day 2026

  • Who:  Grandparents, families, anyone who want to celebrate this special day with us or would like to bring a grandfriend along!
  • When: 5pm-8pm 
  • What: $10 wristbands = Unlimited rides on the ferris wheel, carousel and train! A portion of the ticket sales will go to our organization!
  • Free crafts for families to make as a gift for grandparents is available. (While supplies last.)
  • Free Photo booth - Take a picture with grandparents  or to send to grandparents/grandfriends!  (While supplies last)
  • Storytime - enjoy a sweet story, sing some songs and dance together!

Crafts and Storytimes Celebrating Grandparents Day During September:

  • Crafts and A storytime at The Zoo!  September 13th 
  • A free grandparent admission with a paying child or adult admission (grandchildren of any age).

        Storytime 1:  9:00am -9:30am

        Storytime 2:  11:00am - 11:30am

        Craft: Handprint memories together!



  • The Littlest Bookshop will host our Grandparents Celebration Storytime and Craft Sept. 26 from 11am - 12pm.


Grandparents Day Q&A

At Trail Dust Town

Do I need a grandparent to attend this event?   Anyone is free to come with or without a grandparent!  We have several craft activities that can be made to send to a grandparent OR it could be given to a grandfriend in your neighborhood which is bound to bloom a smile!


Can I get tickets ahead of time?  Tickets will be available day of at the Trail Dust Trading Post across from the Savoy Opera House and next to the magic shop. 


Are Grandparents Free?  Years prior, we did offer free wristbands for grandparents. There will be other free activities we will be at throughout the month of September however, this is event is going to be our BIG FUNdraiser. A portion of the ticket sales will go to our organization! Wristbands are $10 for ages 1 and up.  Wristbands include admission to the outdoor amusement rides like the train, ferris wheel and carousel.   All families regardless of having a wristband, will be welcomed to all the crafts and intergenerational activities we provide.  (While supplies last.). Thank you for your support!


Parking:  Trail Dust Town has parking available around the perimeter of the business location. Handicap parking can be found on the east side near the train station and outside of PolyAnna Park.


Tips: It is still pretty hot in Tucson during early September.  We recommend wearing a hat and sunscreen for when going on outdoor amusement rides and bringing a water bottle.  Refreshments will be sold at Trail Dust Town  Lastly, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes.   Thank you for celebrating this special day with us!
